Choosing the Perfect Music for Signing the Register – A Guide by Laura Seymour Violin

Your wedding ceremony is filled with unforgettable moments—but one of the most tender and photo-worthy of them all is the signing of the register. As a professional violinist performing at luxury weddings across the South West, I’ve seen how beautifully chosen music can enhance this moment and create a magical atmosphere for you and your guests.
If you’re wondering what to choose and how much music you’ll need, I’ve got you covered.
How Many Pieces of Music Do I Need?
For the signing of the register, I usually recommend choosing 2 to 3 pieces.
Why?
This gives your photographer plenty of time to capture those romantic just-married shots.
It keeps the atmosphere flowing without any awkward silences.
It allows flexibility—we’ll keep an eye on how things are going and adjust in real time to ensure everything feels seamless.

When Should I Choose My Ceremony Music?
Start by choosing the music for your ceremony’s key moments—your entrance, signing of the register, and your exit. The signing is where you can really add something personal and expressive. I’ll guide you through the process and help curate the perfect soundtrack.
If you're interested in a bespoke arrangement (more on that below), we usually require at least one month’s notice to prepare and rehearse your piece to perfection.

If not, I can create a bespoke arrangement for you at £Price on Request per piece—crafted to perfectly match your moment.
When Should I Finalise My Music Choices?
There’s no pressure to choose right away. I’ll get in touch closer to the time with a gentle reminder. But if you’re thinking about a custom arrangement, it’s best to let me know sooner rather than later so there’s plenty of time for preparation and rehearsal.
