What to Expect from Laura Seymour Violin at a Wedding Ceremony
Choosing music for your wedding ceremony might seem a little daunting, but planning it can be a truly enjoyable and exciting process.
I absolutely adore performing at weddings, creating the perfect, personalised backdrop for such a special occasion. I work closely with you throughout the planning process, ensuring you feel at ease before the big day.
Have You Considered the Musical Opportunities on Your Special Day?
Live violin music can add an elegant and timeless touch to various moments in your ceremony. Here are some key parts of the day where music can enhance the atmosphere:
Prelude
I typically perform up to 30 minutes of music before your ceremony starts, welcoming your guests as they arrive and take their seats. This sets the tone for the day, creating an elegant and inviting ambience.
Ceremony
Music plays a significant role throughout your ceremony, and I can provide live performances for:
The wedding party’s entrance
The bride or groom’s entrance
Up to three pieces during the signing of the register
The recessional as you make your joyful exit as a married couple
For traditional services, hymns can also be included, either with or without an organist.

What Atmosphere Do You Want to Create?
Every couple has their own unique vision for their wedding day, and I love helping to bring that vision to life through music.
Would you like to begin with an elegant and sophisticated sound to set a refined mood? Or perhaps you’d prefer to start the celebration with lively, upbeat pieces?
You are welcome to choose any style of music for the prelude as your guests arrive. My recommendation is classical, as it creates a timeless and romantic atmosphere, but if you have a different preference, I am happy to tailor the music to suit your style.

What Music Will I Need for a Traditional Wedding Ceremony?
I recommend choosing your main ceremony pieces first, which typically includes:
5–10 pieces for guests' arrival (prelude)
1 piece for the processional (walking down the aisle)
2–3 pieces for the signing of the register
1 piece for the recessional (exit music)
If there are any additional musical moments you'd like to incorporate, just let me know.
What If We’re Unsure of What Music to Choose?
Some couples prefer to select all their pieces themselves, while others provide a handful of their favourite songs and allow me to create a bespoke playlist based on their style. Either approach works beautifully, and I’m happy to assist in curating the perfect selection.
Special Requests
If there is a particular song you’d like that isn’t on my repertoire list, I will check whether an arrangement already exists. If it’s accessible, I will gladly add it to your programme.
Alternatively, if you’d like a bespoke arrangement created especially for you, this can be arranged for £60.00 per piece. If you’re considering this option, do let me know as soon as possible to allow ample time for preparation.
Final Thoughts
There is such a wonderful variety of music to choose from, so take your time and enjoy the process! If you need any guidance, I’d be delighted to help.
I look forward to bringing beautiful music to your wedding day and making it truly unforgettable.
Best wishes,
Laura Seymour Violin
