How to Book Laura Seymour Violin for Your Event

Checking Availability

My schedule is constantly evolving with new bookings, which is why I don’t publish my availability online. To find out if your date is free, please reach out to me directly.

Best Way to Contact Me

You can contact me through a variety of channels—whichever suits you best! Whether by email, Instagram, Facebook, my website contact page, or a phone call, I regularly check all communication methods and will respond as soon as possible.

Does Enquiring Hold My Date?

When you enquire about a date, I make a note of your event details in my diary, but this does not secure the date. Your booking is only confirmed once the deposit has been received. If I receive another enquiry for the same date, I will do my best to inform you, but bookings are secured on a first-come, first-served basis. In some cases, I may be able to accommodate multiple bookings on the same day, depending on timings and locations.

How Far in Advance Can I Book?

I welcome bookings up to three years in advance. The earlier you enquire, the better! However, I also do my best to accommodate last-minute requests whenever possible. If you’re considering live violin music for your event, I would be delighted to discuss your plans, whether they are near or far in the future.

Do I Need to Pay a Deposit?

Yes, once we have confirmed all details of your event, I will provide an informed quote. To secure your booking, a 20% non-refundable deposit is required. Once everything is finalised, I will send an invoice for this deposit, which is payable via bank transfer.

Confirming Your Booking

Your booking is secured upon receipt of the 20% non-refundable deposit. The remaining balance (80%) is due 30 days before your event.

What If Plans Change?

I understand that event details can evolve, so I ask for as much information as possible at the time of booking. If any significant changes arise, such as alterations to timings or locations, please inform me as soon as possible. A month before your event, I will check in with you to reconfirm all details.

Information Needed to Book

When booking, please provide:

  • Full names of the clients

  • Event date

  • Full venue address

  • Event timings and performance times

  • Any special musical requests

Once I have these details, I can provide an informed quote and send an invoice for the deposit to secure your booking.

Questions to Ask Your Venue

Before booking, it’s always worth checking your venue’s music policy. Some venues have restrictions or requirements for live musicians. Here are a few key questions to consider:

  • Are there any sound restrictions for acoustic or amplified music?

  • Where do musicians typically perform, both indoors and outdoors?

  • Can the venue provide suitable shelter for outdoor performances? (A gazebo, pergola, or shaded area is ideal.)

What Will I Need on the Day?

To ensure a seamless performance, I require:

  • One armless chair (I do bring my own stool as a backup)

  • A performance space of at least 2m x 2m with adequate lighting

  • A small designated area to store my case and personal items

  • Basic refreshments, such as a glass of water, to stay hydrated

  • If performing outdoors, adequate shelter and a level performance surface protected from wind

Do You Provide Food and Drink?

While food is not expected, any refreshments offered are always appreciated. A glass of water helps me stay hydrated and perform at my best. If canapés or a cup of tea are available, they are always welcome, especially for longer performance sets.

What If I Am Ill or Unavailable?

In the unlikely event that I am unable to perform due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, I have a network of highly skilled professional musicians who can step in to ensure your event remains seamless and elegant. You can rest assured that your music will always be in expert hands.

I hope this guide has been helpful in answering any questions about booking live violin music for your event. If you have any further queries, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
