Are you looking for aisle inspiration?

Walking Down The Aisle: Music Suggestions for Your Big Moment

As a wedding violinist, one of the most common questions I receive from couples is: "What’s the most popular piece of music for walking down the aisle?"

If you're wondering the same thing, then look no further—I’ve put together a list of pieces that have been chosen by real couples I’ve had the privilege to perform for. I hope this will help inspire you as you choose the perfect soundtrack for your aisle walk.

Here are some of the most popular recent choices:

Walking Down The Aisle

Classical Choices:

  • J. Pachelbel - Pachelbel's Canon in D

  • J.S. Bach - Jesu, Joy Of Man's Desiring

  • F. Schubert - Ave Maria

Modern Pop Choices:

  • A Thousand Years – Christina Perri

  • Thinking Out Loud – Ed Sheeran

  • All of Me – John Legend

  • Perfect – Ed Sheeran

Classic Pop Choices:

  • At Last – Etta James

  • Here Comes The Sun – The Beatles

  • Your Song – Elton John

  • What A Wonderful World – Louis Armstrong

What Should We Think About When Choosing Our Music?

When selecting your aisle walk music, it’s important to consider the ambience you want to create for this moment.

Here are some questions to guide your decision-making:

What is special to you as a couple?

  • Do you want your bridal party entrance to be reflective, romantic, exciting, traditional, timeless, elegant, celebratory, or even in memory of a loved one?

  • Is there a particular song that holds meaning for both of you? Something that represents your relationship or a moment in your journey together?

  • Do you want to celebrate your love for one another with the music you choose, or perhaps surprise your guests with an unexpected, unique musical selection?

Ultimately, this moment is all about you and your partner coming together, greeting one another in the most intimate way before you exchange vows.

Not Sure What to Choose?

If you're feeling uncertain, don’t worry—it’s completely normal. I’d be happy to work with you to find the perfect piece that reflects who you are as a couple. Whether you're after the elegance of classical repertoire for a sophisticated atmosphere, or something more fun and upbeat to get the celebration started, I’m here to help.

If you have any special requests or songs in mind that aren’t listed here, just let me know.

I’ll see if an arrangement already exists or we can discuss creating a bespoke arrangement for you at £60 per piece.

When Should We Make Our Decision?

There’s no need to rush, but if you’d like to explore bespoke options, I recommend letting me know as soon as you've made your decision. That way, we’ll have plenty of time to arrange and practice your chosen piece in time for the big day. Most couples tend to pick their aisle walk music early in the planning process, and I typically ask for at least a month’s notice so I can ensure everything is perfectly prepared.

Enjoy the Moment!

This is such a special moment—one you’ll cherish forever! I’m excited to hear your ideas and work with you to make your aisle walk as memorable as possible.

Best wishes,

Laura Seymour Violin
